ST. PAUL (AP) — A man was rescued after his ice boat broke through Lake Minnetonka and he fell through the water.

First responders were called to the lake Thursday afternoon. The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office says two ice boats, each with one man on board, had been operating on the ice when one broke through.

That boat's operator pulled himself onto the ice and his friend picked him up.

The sheriff's office is investigating the incident.

An ice boat is a wind-powered boat that sails along the ice on skates.
