Man Pleads Guilty to Stalking Twin Cities DJ
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - An Eden Prairie man has pleaded guilty to stalking a public radio host in Minnesota.
Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman says 56-year-old Patrick Kelly pleaded guilty to felony stalking and terroristic threats Monday. Jury selection for Kelly's trial was set to begin Monday.
Kelly was accused of stalking Mary Lucia, a host on Minnesota Public Radio's The Current.
Prosecutors say Kelly sent unwanted communications and gifts to Lucia beginning in 2014. A restraining order against Kelly was granted in Ramsey County.
In court, Kelly said he took full responsibility for his crimes. The judge ordered a pre-sentence investigation and a mental health exam. Sentencing is set for Oct. 13.
The case prompted Lucia to take a leave of absence.
