WILLMAR  (AP) -- Emergency responders worked for nearly two hours Thursday to free a man trapped underneath a railroad car at the Burlington Northern Santa Fe yard in south central Minnesota.

Police in Willmar called in companies that specialize in moving heavy equipment to help free the man. Workers used hydraulic jacks to move the railroad car, with an estimated weight of more than 100 tons.

Willmar Ambulance operations manager Brad Hanson says the man's legs were severely damaged. He was airlifted to a hospital. There's no immediate word on his condition.
