CANNON FALLS (AP) — Authorities are now investigating the death of a man who was run over while crossing a highway in southeastern Minnesota as a possible hit-and-run.

Forty-two-year-old Patrick Daly of Stewartville was struck and killed after sunset Sunday while crossing Highway 52 on the southern edge of Cannon Falls

The State Patrol initially said Daly was hit by two vehicles, both of which stopped at the scene.

But the patrol now suspects Daly may have been the victim of a hit-and-run. The patrol says that's because video surveillance from nearby businesses shows "several cars may have been in the area at the time of the crash."

The patrol is looking for the public's help in identifying any other southbound vehicles that might have hit Daly.
