Man Jailed After Police Chase

ST. CLOUD — A convicted felon was arrested in St. Cloud Thursday after leading police on a short chase. The incident happened just before 11:00 p.m.

Thursday when St. Cloud Police tried to pull over a car for an equipment violation.

The driver, 21-year-old Miguel Moreno of Litchfield allegedly failed to stop and led police on a short chase. It lasted for less than a mile before Moreno jumped out and tried to flee on foot. Officers caught him and searched Moreno’s car where they found a loaded 9mm handgun on the driver’s side floor.

Moreno is a convicted felon and not allowed to have a gun. He was arrested and faces charges of fleeing police, being a felon in possession of a firearm and a felony Department of Corrections warrant.
