Man Jailed After Domestic Assault, Threats Incident

ST. CLOUD -- A St. Cloud man faces charges of second degree assault and domestic assault after an incident in west St. Cloud early this morning.

Police were called to the 1300 block of Mulberry Road just after midnight on a report of a domestic assault, possibly involving a weapon.

Officers arrived to find 43-year-old Jeffrey Evans inside the home. Police also found a 43-year-old woman hiding inside the house.

The investigation revealed Evans allegedly assaulted the woman and threatened her with a handgun.

Officers were able to find the gun and arrest Evans. He's jailed in Stearns County awaiting his first court appearance.
