MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - A patient at the Minnesota Security Hospital is in custody in connection with the death of another patient.

St. Peter police say 41-year-old Michael Francis Douglas was found in his room Wednesday night during routine staff checks. He appeared to have injuries caused by violent trauma.

A 31-year-old man was arrested. Police Chief Matt Peters says the suspect was also a patient at the security hospital. Formal charges are pending.

Peters says he can't elaborate on the nature of Douglas' injuries, or say whether a weapon was found. He also couldn't say why these men were in the security hospital, citing medial privacy rules.

He says no additional information will be released Thursday.

The Minnesota Department of Human Services oversees the hospital, which is Minnesota's largest psychiatric facility.
