Man Found Dead After Southwestern Minnesota Standoff
WINDOM, Minn. (AP) - Authorities say a man was found dead after a police standoff in southwestern Minnesota.
The Cottonwood County Sheriff's Office says officers were called Monday morning to a home in Windom, and heard shouting coming from inside the house.
Officers were trying to enter the house when they heard shots fired from inside. Reports say two rounds hit a police car.
Police retreated, formed a perimeter around the house and called for help. A tactical team entered the house about four hours later and found a 48-year-old man dead and a 52-year-old woman injured.
The woman was taken to a hospital. Her condition has not been released.
