Man Fatally Struck by Minivan on Eagan Road

EAGAN (AP) - Police say a 27-year-old man was fatally struck by a minivan after he ran into a road in Eagan.

The Eagan Police Department said in a news release that the pedestrian was struck Thursday night. According to police, the man ran into a lane of traffic on Yankee Doodle Road, and the driver of the minivan swerved but couldn't avoid hitting him.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, and police did not release his name. Police say it doesn't appear drugs or alcohol were factors.
