MINNETONKA (AP) - The Hennepin County sheriff's office is investigating an officer-involved shooting that killed a man in Minnetonka.

Police say officers were called to an apartment building around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday on a report about a person with a gun. Arriving officers found a man with a gun in the underground garage.

Details are sketchy, but police say shots were fired and the man died at the scene.

The Hennepin County medical examiner's office will release the name of the man who was killed. Names of the Minnetonka police officers who were involved in the shooting will be released early next week.

Police call it an isolated incident, and say residents don't need to fear for their safety.
