DEER RIVER (AP) — Authorities have arrested a 36-year-old man in the death of another man in northern Minnesota.

The Itasca County sheriff's office says authorities were investigating a stolen vehicle and missing person case Sunday when they found the body of a 20-year-old Hibbing man. The stolen vehicle was found in another location.

The victim is identified as David Alexander Haiman. His death was ruled a homicide.

Authorities believe Haiman was killed in Grand Rapids, and his body left in the small community of Ball Club.

Sheriff Vic Williams says the victim and the suspect, who is from Grand Rapids, knew each other, and that the public is not in danger.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension assisted the sheriff's office. The death remains under investigation.
