Man Arrested After Burglary Attempt

ST. CLOUD — A St. Cloud man was arrested after allegedly trying to burglarize a home and assault a police officer.

St. Cloud Police were called to the 1500 block of 15th Avenue Southeast just before midnight Tuesday on a burglary attempt.

Police arrived and spoke with 44-year-old Antoine Jones who then allegedly punched the officer in the shoulder. Police placed Jones under arrest after identifying him as the burglar.

Jones was treated for minor injuries by the Gold Cross Ambulance and booked into the Sherburne County Jail on suspicion of 4th degree assault, obstructing legal process and disorderly conduct.

The police officer wasn’t seriously hurt.
