ST. PAUL (AP) - A St. Paul father is accused of threatening his teenage daughter with an assault rifle because she failed to make straight A's and instead got two B's in school.

A criminal complaint filed in Ramsey County District Court Friday charges 51-year-old Kirill Bartashevitch with making terrorist threats. Bartashevitch is accused of pointing the gun at his 15-year-old daughter and his wife during an argument at their house Jan. 17.

The complaint says he had recently bought the AK-47 because he feared the gun would be banned. Prosecutors say Bartashevitch admitted pointing the gun at his daughter and wife, but argued that it wasn't loaded.

Bartashevitch is expected in court Friday.
