Mailbox Damage Blamed On St. Joseph Man

A St. Joseph man is jailed today after a mailbox was damaged at 16th Street South and 7th Avenue South early Sunday.

Saint Cloud police say an employee for GSSC Security identified 20-year old Andrew Dahlgren as the suspect he saw damaging a mailbox at that intersection about 3:30 a.m.

Police say Dahlgren resisted arrest and fled from police on foot. He was arrested after a short foot pursuit.

Dahlgren is being held for court at the Stearns County Jail for gross misdemeanor criminal damage to property, obstructing the legal process, fleeing police on foot and minor consumption.

The arresting officer received minor injuries and was treated at Saint Cloud Hospital shortly after the arrest.
