Mae was born in Cold Spring, MN to August and Anna (Streit) Althoff. She married Glenn Rollins on October 15, 1955. Mae grew up on a farm, where her love of nature bloomed. Each winter her dreams took shape with the arrival of the seed catalogs. When anyone offered her a new plant, she always made room in her ever-expanding gardens. As the weather turned cold, she filled her living room with nature, and her gigantic pumpkins found their way to all her children’s doorsteps.

She was always ready when someone asked her to go fishing, watch one of her grandchildren’s many activities, or take a trip. She wanted to see all the sites, every animal, and take pictures of everything she saw. Mae loved to explore.

Survivors include her husband, Glenn; children, Tom (Sherry), Marie (Tom) LaForce, Cheryl (Bob) Stein, Elaine (Russ) Kalthoff; grandchildren, Rachel (Charlie) Goldberg, Adam (Tiffany) Rollins, Calvin Kalthoff, Paul and Gretchen Houston; great-grandchild, Nora Goldberg; brothers, Jim (Shirley) Althoff and Donnie (Janice) Althoff.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jeanne Schmitz and grandson, Aaron Rollins.

Arrangements are with Wenner Funeral Home, Cold Spring.
