Funeral Services will be held at 11 am Friday, October 7, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Long Prairie, for Mabel M. Tesch, age 96, of Long Prairie who went to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, September 29 at CentraCare Health Systems-Long Prairie. Rev. Noah Wehrspann will officiate and burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Long Prairie. Family and friends may call one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Arrangements entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home – Stein Chapel, Long Prairie, Minnesota.

Mabel Marie was born June 29. 1920 in Reynolds Township, Todd County, the daughter of Jesse and Maude (Riles) Hall. She graduated from Long Prairie High School in 1939 and worked in St. Paul during the summers of 1938 and 39. She married Reinhard Tesch on February 18, 1940 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Long Prairie, and was a stay-at-home mother and farm wife until she started to work for Don Frost Grocery in 1964. In 1966 she started working at the Long Prairie Hospital and Nursing Home as a cook, retiring in 1982.

Mabel was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She volunteered at the Food Shelf and Nursing Home for many years. In 1984 she sold her first made-from-scratch quilt going on to make over 500, with quilts in 17 states and four countries, along with a large number she made for missions through the Trinity Lutheran Ladies Quilting group, and several for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, step grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, and step great-great grandchildren. She made her last quilt in 2013 after moving to the Nursing Home.

Mabel is survived by her son, Robert (Peg) Tesch, Hermosa, SD; Karen Tesch and Betty Tesch of Long Prairie; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, four step grandchildren, nine step great grandchildren, and five step great-great grandchildren, her sister, Dorothy (Paul) Schneider, Clarissa and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Reinhard in 1987, infant daughter in 1941, brothers Fay, Lloyd and baby Hall, and sisters Lela (Bill) VanValkenburg and Vera (Nelson) Lee.
