Mabel E. Anderson, 94, of Princeton, passed peacefully away Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the Elim Care Center in Princeton. She was born September 29, 1920 in Livonia Township, Princeton to Albert and Annie (Kriesel) Johnson. Mabel was married to Alfred Nelson, who passed away, and later she married Elwood Anderson, who also passed away. She lived her entire life in Princeton. Mabel owned the Knotty Pine Restaurant in the 40’s and early 50’s, where she would get up every morning and bake 12-13 delicious pies for her customers. She also worked at Hofmann Engineering in Anoka, Hobert Drug, Fingerhut, and Lind’s Dairy Barn. Mabel lived at her home on 4th Ave. South and moved to Princeton Apartments, Caley House, and entered the Elim Care Center in September of 2014. She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a good helper; serving lunches and sometimes washing windows. Mabel was also a Legion Auxiliary member for over 65 years; she was proud to be an American and supported the spirit when she could; baking cookies for our troops overseas. She enjoyed pets, dancing, gardening, nature, music, traveling, cooking, baking, embroidering and being with her friends and family. Mabel was a spitfire, who always had a perfected appearance. She will be dearly missed.

Mabel is survived by her son, Joe Nelson of Princeton, step-daughter, Phyllis Johnson of Dalbo; siblings, Ruby Aleckson of Paynesville, Ray (Arlene) Johnson of Blaine, John Johnson of Aitkin, Jerry (Barb) Johnson of Eagan, Sharon (Jim) Skarohlid of Princeton; sisters-in-law, Bernadine (Jim) Johnson of Minneapolis, Delphine (Bob) Aufderhar of New Richmond, WI; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Alfred Nelson, Elwood Anderson; sister, Delores (Ernie) Johnson; brothers, Alvin (Ruby) Johnson, Iver (Harriet) Johnson, Roy (Laverne) Johnson; sister-in-law, Leslie Johnson; brother-in-law, Bob Aleckson; and nephews, Dennis, Brian, Joshua, and Craig.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, February 12, 2015 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Princeton. Visitation will be held from 4-8PM Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Princeton and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

Mabel resided at the Caley House and Princeton Elim Care Center. Thank you to Pastor Dan and caregivers for the care and companionship she received. She loved and appreciated you all.
