Two Minnesota Lynx players received honors from the WNBA Thursday.  Lindsay Whalen was named the WNBA Western Conference player of the month for the month of August.  She is averaging 14.2 points and 5.9 assists a game this season.  Maya Moore has been named the WNBA rookie of the year.  Moore is averaging 12.5 points a game this season.

The Lynx have also signed forward Rebekkah Brunson to a contract extension.  Brunson is averaging 11.0 points and 9.3 rebounds a game this season.  The Lynx have a WNBA best record 24-6 and will host New York at 7pm tonight.
