MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Country star Luke Bryan is the first musical act announced for the new Minnesota Vikings stadium that opens this summer.

US Bank Stadium announced Wednesday that Bryan is booked to play on Aug. 19. Ticket information has not yet been released.

Bryan is stopping in Minneapolis as part of his newly expanded "Kill the Lights Tour." A spokeswoman for the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority, which operates the stadium, says Bryan is the "first announcement of many events" at the $1 billion stadium.

But there is chance that other non-Vikings events could be scheduled before Bryan takes the stage.

In June, Bryan performed at TCF Bank Stadium, the Vikings' temporary home. US Bank Stadium will start hosting the team's preseason games in August.
