The Minnesota Timberwolves topped the Dallas Mavericks 123-122 in overtime Wednesday night at American Airlines Arena. Kevin Love made the go ahead basket with just seconds remaining in the extra period, then played strong defense to stop Dirk Nowitzki from scoring as time expired.

Love ended the game with 35 points on 11-20 shooting with eight rebounds. Ricky Rubio went 8-12 for 22 points and also had 15 assists in the win.

Minnesota gains a game in the standings with the win and are now 5.5 games behind the Mavs for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. The Wolves are at Houston Thursday night.
