Louise A. Gohmann, Clearwater, 83

February 11, 1931 - July 8, 2014

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, July 11, at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in St. Augusta for Louise A. Gohmann, 83, of Clearwater, who died July 8, 2014. The Reverend Robert Rolfes will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Parish Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the St. Mary Help of Christians Parish Center in St. Augusta on Thursday, July 10, from 4:00-8:00 PM, and one hour prior to services on Friday at the church. Parish prayers will be at 7:00 PM on Thursday at the church.

Louise was born on February 11, 1931, in Richmond, MN, to Jacob and Lucy (Weisman) Rothstein. She married Bernard Gohmann on September 1, 1954. They farmed and raised their 7 children in rural Clearwater.

She enjoyed gardening, especially the flowers, quilting, sewing, baking (she was known for her homemade bread), and playing cards. One of her goals was a homemade quilt for each grandchild at graduation. She volunteered for the Red Cross and her parish church among others. Louise treasured time with her family.

Louise is survived by: husband Bernard; children: Lucy (Jim) Laumann, Bruce (Jodie), Barb (Jay) Aleckson, Brian (Mary), Brad (Shelly), Loren (JoAnne), Lee (Dawn); 29 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers: Sylvester, Andrew, Martin, Ansgar, Victor; sister, Clara Heinze; many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters, Roman, Bill, Mark, Ambrose, Ben, Christian, Mathias, Martha Torborg, and Rosemary Fischer.
