SAUK RAPIDS -- Stearns County deputies found a lost nine-year-old boy Monday night.

Sheriff John Sanner says at around 5:00 p.m. the Stearns County Sheriff's office was called to the Mississippi River Park in Brockway Township to search for a lost boy.

The Sheriff's Office says the boy was walking with a caretaker, 32-year-old Joshua Scott of St. Cloud, when the boy became upset and ran into the wooded area.

When deputies arrived on scene they set up a perimeter and used a drone to search the area. The boy eventually walked out from the woods onto a trail and was found by a firefighter.

The child was not hurt. He was given to his mother, 26-year-old Tia Ruegemer of Sauk Rapids.
