INNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Twins 2015 season ended today in a 6-1 loss to the Kansas City Royals.

The loss completes a three-game sweep by the division champion Royals and brings a close to a season in which the Twins ended above .500 (83-79) for the first time since 2010.

Starting pitcher and expensive free agent Ricky Nolasco continued to disappoint -- allowing five runs on four hits through just 2 2/3 innings.

Though falling short of a postseason appearance, the Twins have plenty to look forward to next year. Players seemed to respond to first year manager Paul Molitor and up-and-coming youngsters like Miguel Sano and Eddie Rosario showed the belong in the big leagues.
