Loren “Lefty” Cameron, 87, of Staples, died on Monday, August 4, 2014 at Lakewood Health System Care Center in Staples, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples, MN with Father Joe Korf officiating. Friends and family are invited to gather for a visitation from 5-7 PM Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, and one hour prior to service at the church. Interment will be at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples, MN.

Loren was born September 25, 1926 in Wadena County, MN to the late Alexander and Leona (Dibble) Cameron. He attended country school in District 4, finished grade school at Aldrich district 19&79 joint, graduated from Staples High School and then attended St. Cloud State. Loren married Orry Ringler Martin on September 9, 1967 in Staples. Loren worked for the Railroad for 23 years on the 6th Street Tower, and for Ralph Martin as a bartender, then later opened Lefty’s Bar that he owned and operated for many years. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, playing cards, and was a member of the Lion’s Club and Knights of Columbus.

Loren is survived by special friend, Beatrice Hoxter; his brothers, Don (Janice) Cameron of Baxter, MN, David “Ike” (Carol) Cameron of Staples, MN; sister, Pearl “Gert” (Herb) Domeno of Los Angeles, CA; granddaughters, Kim, Lori, Dawn and Molly; nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and many close friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Orry; siblings, Harriet, James, Kenneth, Frank, Theresa and Jerome. Memorials are preferred to Staples Sacred Heart School in memory of Lefty. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
