Loraine June Remus, age 87, of Princeton, passed away peacefully, Sunday, June 19, 2016 surrounded by her family, in her home at Sterling Pointe in Princeton.

Loraine was born on June 22, 1928 in Mankato, Minnesota, the daughter of Arnold and Anna (Schumann) Bergemann. Loraine was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mankato. She graduated from Mankato High School, then Kahler Nursing School in Rochester as a Registered Nurse. She was united in marriage to Wayne E. Remus on April 2, 1950 in Mankato. Loraine worked in hospitals in Rochester and Princeton and also for Princeton Public Schools as the School Nurse. She was an organist for her churches and was most recently a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Princeton. Loraine had a passion for traveling and took many unforgettable trips with her husband. She enjoyed flower gardening, crocheting, doing jigsaw puzzles, reading and playing games with her friends at Sterling Pointe. She loved living on the lake and spending time at the lake. She will be dearly missed.

Loraine is survived by her children, Maureen (Jim) Bartz of Princeton, Craig (Maley) Remus of Princeton, Stuart (Jean) Remus of Shoreview, Paulette (Rich Imes) Coughlin of Bailey, CO and Peter (Kristi) Remus of Becker; 17 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Braun and Elaine (Curtis) Bening; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Wayne; daughter Marsha Lee; granddaughter Anna Remus; and brothers-in-law, Robert Braun and Merle Priebe.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11AM on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Princeton, MN. Visitation will be held from 10-11AM at the church. Family interment will be in The Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls. Arrangements entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Princeton.
