Soups are scratch-made (tomato dumpling is a Friday favorite) and the staff greets you by name.

Here's some history of successful St. Cloud restauranteur, Brigitte Olson.

Olson came to Central Minnesota in the 1960's, and worked at several restaurants in St. Cloud and Sauk Rapids.

She started her first restaurant on Highway 10 in St. Cloud, when she bought Fred's Cafe in the late 1960's from Fred Haverland.

Brigitte went on to own and operate four other restaurants in St. Cloud, Sartell, Clearwater and Rice.

In Rice, she bought The Cougar Den and turned it into a German Restaurant, which unfortunately was destroyed by a fire.

Thirteen years ago, Brigitte's and her children Julie, David and Michael bought Alvie's West (Yes - You're Right! It was Shakee's Pizza parlour!)  from Alvin Braegelmann at 42 32nd Ave South in St. Cloud, and named the restaurant Brigitte's Cafe.
