Lois was the youngest child born to Bernard and Louise Husnik (Pelzl) of W. St. Paul, MN, on September 21, 1932. A graduate of Good Council Academy in Mankato, MN, she also received an R.N. degree from Ancker School of Nursing in St. Paul. She married Hank Buelow on September 6, 1958, and they raised their children in Minneapolis before moving to Miles City, MT, in 1974, where they purchased the Historic Olive Hotel and operated it until 1995. While in Miles City, Lois was President of the Business and Professional Women Organization. She was also active in the Nile and Zabbia Temple and an active member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and several other organizations. After retiring to St. Cloud, she and her husband traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and world with friends and family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings Betty Hohenstein, Bernie Husnik, Don Husnik, Edna Minehan, and Eloise Kaliher. She is survived by her five children Heidi (David) Phillips of Rockford, MI, Bernard Buelow of Provincetown, MA, Chris Cavalin of Coeur d’Alene, ID, Teri (Rick) Bart of Billings, MT, and Henry (Dianne) Buelow of St. Stephen, MN, and her nine grandchildren Candace Bart, Kris Bart, Austin Phillips, Tom Bart, Shawna Buelow, Kaitlyn Phillips, Vincent Cavalin, HD Buelow, and Kristen Cavalin. She is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.

A celebration of Lois’ life will take place at 11am on Saturday, September 5, 2015, at the Williams Dingmann Funeral Home, 324 Second Avenue South, Sauk Rapids, (www.williamsdingmann.com) followed by a luncheon at 12:30pm in the club room of the Regency Park Estates, located at 1615 15th Ave S.E. in St. Cloud. A private interment will take place on Sunday at Noon at the Zion Cemetery in Long Prairie, MN.
