Local Kids Learn About The Outdoors In Clear Lake [VIDEO]

CLEAR LAKE -- The 3rd annual "Get Youth Outdoors Day" was held today at Wild Marsh Sporting Clays in Clear Lake.

Kids from around the area were able to come out and learn about outdoor activities, safety precautions, and take some target practice.

The event was held by the Union Sportsman's Alliance in order to instill a passion for the outdoors in the next generation of sportsmen and women.

Mike Ganz of the Union Sportsman's Alliance believes it is important that youth today can learn to enjoy the outdoors and becoming sportsmen.

"We want to let the kids know that there's something to do besides watching TV," Ganz says.

Ganz says it is a rewarding experience to be involved.

"There's no money expected in it," Ganz says, "but the reward is comes by just seeing the kids' faces light up."
