WHAT'S HAPPENING

I received information about this story on Friday last week from an anonymous person. Once I went to the GoFundMe page and read this story, I felt compelled to share it with our community.

This lovely couple has been together since they were quite young. They were both stand out athlete's in high school. At age 14, Colleen (CJ) started coaching gymnastics in her backyard. Joel was involved in 4-H and guided youth canoe trips through Les Voyageurs. Both were captains of their teams and clear leaders. The two met in junior high and have been together through college, marriage, and also have an amazing son. Joel works with at-risk youth at the St. Cloud School District's Area Learning Center and they're both coaches.

Colleen was diagnosed with MS in 2006. For her, the disease has been relentless. She has a progressive form that has forced her to go from 100% physically capable to having little to no use of her lower body, arms, back , and hands in less than 10 years. Joel and CJ have taken the journey with MS in stride.

This just the beginning of their story. To read the complete story, I invite you to go to click HERE.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Long story short, this wonderful family is in need of a new wheelchair accessible vehicle. This family never seeks handouts. They take care of others when many would say they need to be focused on their own issues.  Their current mode of transportation is a 1995 Plymouth that is well past it's time. Watch the video below to see for yourself. It's just not safe to be riding in a van that a door continues to fall off!  Any funds that go above and beyond their goal of $47,000, will go towards much needed improvements on their 100 year old home.
