ST. CLOUD - A pair of avid canoeists, one from here in the St. Cloud area, are in the running to be featured in a documentary with potentially national reach.

Todd Foster and his longtime canoeing partner Scott Miller have made it past the initial round of nominees to be profiled in "Among the Wild," a four-part film which will feature Minnesotans who are devoted to an adventure sport.

The two have been paddling all across Minnesota together - and documenting it -  for many years. This includes an over 2,000 mile trek from St. Cloud to the Hudson Bay in 2005.

Foster says he and Miller were nominated by a friend for one of four spots in the "Among the Wild" film selection process, and and recently made past the first round of cuts.

Foster says years of paddling adventures have created a strong bond between himself and Miller.

Foster says the selection process includes gathering votes from fans via the "Among the Wild" Facebook page, and then the remaining candidates will be reviewed by a selection committee.

If they're chosen, Miller and Foster will have a 15-20 segment in the film, which will be screened in film festivals all around the United States.
