ST. CLOUD -- Local businesses are looking at options to make their companies more energy efficient.

Today (Wednesday) business leaders met at St. Cloud City Hall for the 2014 St. Cloud Area Green Forum.

Presentations were giving by Saint Paul Port Authority and the Clean Energy Resource Teams to talk about how businesses, non-profits, and state agencies can before more energy efficient to save money.

Peter Klein is the Vice President of Finance for Saint Paul Port Authority. He says Port Authority offers three State-wide financing programs -- Trillion BTU, PACE of Minnesota and Energy Savings Partnership.

Lindsay Wimmer is the Outreach Coordinator for the Clean Energy Resource Teams at the University of Minnesota. She spoke during the forum about the Guaranteed Energy Savings Program.

Both organizations have helped different business or state facilities here in the St. Cloud area.

Wimmer says St. Cloud State University took advantage of their program and have been happy with their results.

Klein says Port Authority recently helped the Sawatdee restaurant upgrade to energy efficient boilers.
