Local Band & Choir Team Up to Get ‘America Singing’

ST. CLOUD -- The Minnesota Center Chorale and St. Cloud Municipal Band are teaming up to present "I Hear America Singing" on Sunday in St. Cloud.

The event starts at 3:00 p.m. at Calvary Community Church and features a wide variety of American music from folk songs to show tunes.

"[It] will be a lot of fun," says Jodi Martinson of the Minnesota Center Chorale. "I even have some of the choir members working on stage presence."

Martinson says the collaboration between the two musical groups makes for a very powerful performance.

"We had a rehearsal together and it really was a lot of fun," Martinson says. "[The band] really brought the music to life in a way that a keyboard doesn't quite do."

"Even looking at the stage is amazing because you see all those people on stage -- [there's] about 120 people up there."

Tickets for I Hear America Singing cost $15 for adults, $13 for seniors, and $5 for students.
