Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids for Lloyd A. Theisen, age 87, who passed away Saturday at St. Benedict’s Senior Community in St. Cloud. Rev. Ralph Zimmerman will officiate and burial will be at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Little Falls. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids and one hour prior to the services Saturday at the church. Parish prayers will be at 4:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Lloyd was born Sept. 1, 1927 in Wadena to William & Elizabeth (Anderson) Theisen. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Lloyd married Mildred Piepkorn on Feb. 16, 1949 in Wadena. They lived in Mitchell, SD, Spokane, WA and Las Vegas, NV. They also farmed near Hewitt and moved to Sauk Rapids in 1994. Lloyd was an electrician at the Nevada test site for many years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus in Las Vegas. Lloyd enjoyed tinkering with home projects and traveling. He was a strong, trustworthy, reliable, easy going, private man with a strong faith. Lloyd was a great father and husband who took good care of his family.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Mildred of St. Cloud; children, John (Anne) of Tehachapi, CA, Paul (Janae) of Sleepy Eye, Dave (Paula) of Golden Valley, Kathrine (Tom) Theisen-Mauser of Hollis, NH, Joyce (Mike) Theisen-Cleary of Inver Grove Heights and Tom (Wendy) of Las Vegas, NV; brothers and sisters, Arnold of Wadena, Veronica (Jerry) Mathison of Arden Hills, Delores (Gene) Guthmuller of Shoreview and Paul (Carol) of Little Canada; 17 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ralph, Leo, Philip, Kenneth and William; and sisters, Ruth Baron, Loraine Larson and Betty Cullen.
