RICE -- The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources will hold its final meeting with the Little Rock Creek Watershed committee Wednesday. The meeting is the final formal gathering between the two groups.

The DNR will present a draft of sustainable groundwater use to seek input before a final plan is brought up for public review.

The DNR assembled the Little Rock Creek Sustainable Groundwater Planning Project Advisory Team in February of 2016 after groundwater use in the area was increasing at a faster rate than the statewide average.

The area included in the five-year action plan extends from the north end of Little Rock Lake in Benton County to the Skunk River in Morrison County.

The meeting will be held at the Lion's Building at Westside Park in Rice at 1:00 p.m. and is open to the public.
