LITTLE FALLS -- A Little Falls man has been sentenced to over six years in prison today for touching and taking pornographic photos of an eight-year-old last year.

The Morrison County Attorney's Office says 39-year-old Daniel Gamboa pled guilty to Criminal Sexual Conduct in his court appearance on December 17th. Following his arrest last April, Gamboa admitted to sexually touching the child and having the child touch him in the photos found on his cell phone.

The Defense argued Gamboa should be placed on probation and get treatment but Assistant County Attorney Todd Kosovich argued Gamboa showed no remorse and downplayed the incident and his responsibility.

Kosovich also said Gamboa "groomed" the child for the sexual assault by showing her pornography prior to the incident. According to reports, Judge Conrad Freeberg said he was "bothered a lot" by this grooming and sentenced Gamboa to 75 months (six years and three months) in the Morrison County Jail.

A lesser count of child pornography possession was dismissed.

After his prison sentence, Gamboa will be on conditional release for 10 years with the possibility of serving another 10 years if he violates his conditional release.
