ST. PAUL - Tom Novak scored 38 seconds into the game and St. Thomas Academy never let up, romping over Little Falls 7-0 in the first quarterfinal game of the Class A State High School Boys Hockey Tournament.

Andrew Commers led the Tommie’s offensively with 2 goals and 3 assists. Novak added 2 goals and also had a pair of assists. Other goals scorers for the Tommie’s were Henry Hart and Eric Schurhamer who each had a goal and an assist. T.J. Samec wrapped up the scoring with the only goal of the final period. David Zevnik and Ian West combined in goal for the shutout for St. Thomas Academy with 15 saves.

The Tommie’s scored four even strength goals, got two on the power play, and also had a short handed marker.

Little Falls will play in the consolation bracket at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at Mariucci Arena.
