Litchfield Man Hurt In Meeker County Crash

LITCHFIELD - A Litchfield man had to be extricated from his vehicle on Friday, but he only suffered minor injuries.

The Meeker County Sheriff's Office says the crash happened on Friday just after 5:00 p.m. in Forest City Township.

Seventy-nine-year-old Warren Newgaard was going east on 288th Street when he drove off the road, flipped over, and hit a tree. Newgaard was taken to Meeker Memorial Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The Sheriff's Office says alcohol is suspected as a factor in the crash.
