FOLEY -- A Benton County judge has set bail at $100,000 for a Litchfield man accused of shooting at a sheriff's deputy last Thursday.

43-year-old Christopher Knyphausen is charged with one count of first degree assault and one count of second degree assault.

Knyphausen is accused of calling the Benton County Sheriff's dispatch center saying he was at a storage shed and was going to start shooting a gun just for fun.

When a sheriff's deputy arrived, Knyphausen allegedly pointed a pistol at the deputy and fired. The deputy returned fire and took cover behind his squad car. Knyphausen fled the scene and was later arrested in the area of 29th Avenue Southeast and 3rd Street Southeast.

No one was hurt and police later recovered a CO2-powered BB-gun.
