ST. JOSEPH  - A local St. Joseph light display is collecting donations to help Boy Scout Troop twenty with their annual Christmas dinner.

Lights on Callaway was started by Curt Richter and his wife Dawn Richter as a way to bring some excitement to the community. In 2005 Richter saw a viral video about a man that had animated lights to music on his house, this sparked Richter's interest to try it for himself.

The couple spends months preparing for the light display. Richter says for every minute of music, he spends four hours of sequencing in the background.

Light Display "...idea of what it's going to look like."

The show lasts about twenty-five to thirty minutes. Dawn Richter says the light show is different every year.

Their advice for someone that wants to start their own display is to start planning now. Richter says he is preparing for next year already.

You can also see another local light display with over 60,000 bulbs in Clearwater. Clearwater Lights starts at 5:30 p.m. every night from now until December 31st.
