ST. JOSEPH -- It's not a miracle on 34th Street, but there is something special happening on Callaway Street in St. Joseph.

Curt Richter, along with his wife Dawn, have been putting up a Christmas light display for the past seven years.

Richter says after watching the Wizards of Winter video on the internet, he wanted to see if doing his own light display was possible.

"There wasn't a whole lot of Christmas light displays in the area, so this was something I wanted to see if I could do," says Richter.

The light show, which is set to music, runs from 5:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. and Richter says he plans all year round for next season.

"It takes a lot of planning, I'm actually planning next years display now," says Richter.

This year Richter has expanded the display to the neighbors house, and the community has really enjoy the hard work.

"We have gotten hand written notes in the donation box saying how great the display is," says Richter.

The public is encourages to give a donation for the display, which Richter give to the Boy Scout Troop 20 in Waite Park.

"Our first year we had about $280 that we collect, last year we had $1250 dollars that we were able to collect for the Boy Scouts," says Richter.

The show runs until January 9th and you can enjoy the display from your car by turning your radio to 90.9 FM.
