ST. JOSEPH - A lightning strike led to a house fire near St. Joseph on Saturday night.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office and St. Joseph Police Department responded to the fire at 9:00 p.m.

The home was located at 295th Street, south of St. Joseph and was owned by 49-year-old Manuel Campos. When officers arrived they found the attached garage on fire and spreading to the rest of the home.

People were inside the house when the fire started, but everyone got out safely and no one was injured. It is believed the garage was hit by lightning and then started on fire.

The fire was put out by the St. Joseph and Waite Park fire departments.
