ST. CLOUD - The thunderstorm that moved through the St. Cloud metro area wasn't severe, but it did produce a lot of lightning.

The St. Cloud fire department says they were called out to a garage fire, due to a lightning strike at about 5:45 a.m. this (Tuesday) morning. It happened at 1439 Cypress Road. The homeowner was able to put the fire out with a fire extinguisher, and the damage was limited to about $200.

The heavy rain in the 5:00 a.m. hour also produced some flash flooding.  We had 1.43 inches of rain here at the radio station in east St. Cloud.
