Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 30, at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud, for Leona M. Zormeier, 88, of St. Cloud, who died August 26, 2014. The Reverend Anthony Oelrich and the Reverend Albert Holmes will concelebrate. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 AM on Saturday at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Arrangements are with the Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud.

Leona Marie Zormeier was born on October 10, 1925, in St. Cloud, to Joseph and Louise (Messer) Zormeier. She graduated from St. Cloud Technical High School in 1943 and furthered her studies in accounting at the University of Minnesota-Minneapolis. She was the Chief Accountant for Abbott Northwestern Hospital Minneapolis for more than 23 years. She returned to St. Cloud to help care for her elderly parents. She then worked at GV’s Plumbing and Heating as an accountant. Leona was also a caretaker for her family for many years.
She was a long time member of St. Augustine’s Parish and often filled in for the organist when needed. Leona was very active in the community and was a Stearns County Election Judge and a Chamber of Commerce Greeter for many years.

Leona is survived by: great-niece Natalie (Volkert) Pallansch of Big Lake, great-nephew Aaron Volkert of St. Cloud, great-great nieces Bethany and Megan Pallansch.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sister Marion Moore, adopted sister Isabel Bolig and niece Kathryn (Moore) Volkert.
