Lenora D. Hilsgen, 95, St. Joseph

January 28, 191 - January 11, 2015

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Lenora D. Hilsgen, age 95, of St. Joseph and formerly of St. Cloud, who passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Arlington Place in St. Joseph. Reverend Thomas Knoblach will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Parish Cemetery in St. Joseph.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Daniel Funeral Home in ST. JOSEPH and after 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at the Church. Parish Prayers will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home in St. Joseph.

Lenora was born on January 28, 1919 in St. Joseph, Minnesota to Michael and Mary (Himsl) Zimmer. She married Christ “Chris” Hilsgen on June 29, 1946 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in St. Joseph. Lenora worked as a Dietary Aid at the St. Cloud Hospital for many years. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and Christian Women.

She loved baking, gardening, puzzles, and playing cards. Lenora especially treasured all the time spent with her family.

Lenora is survived by her children, Audrey (Hiltner) Schroeder (Rick) of St. Joseph, Clifford (Cori) of Avon, Mary Theisen (Dave) of St. Joseph, and Mark (Lisa) of St. Joseph; daughter in law, Mary Jane Hilsgen of Woodbury; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Esther Zimmer of Prior Lake; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chris; son, Michael, son-in-law, Rich Hiltner; one grandson John Michael Hilsgen; and ten brothers and sisters.
