Le Sueur County Officials Search For Missing Camper

MANKATO, Minn. (AP) - A 20-year-old woman has gone missing after camping in southern Minnesota.

Reports say 20-year old Mariah Lynn Zwart of Le Sueur had been camping with a friend Thursday night on a sand bar of the Minnesota River near the southwest corner of Le Sueur.

The Le Sueur County Sheriff's Office reports that it received the call at 6:50 a.m. Friday. Officials say at some point a friend lost track of Zwart. The friend went back by foot to Zwart's parent's residence, but she was not there. Sheriff's officials believe alcohol played a factor.

The investigation is focusing on the Minnesota River.
