Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, St. Cloud for Lawrence “Pete” L. Peterson, 83, of Foley who died Tuesday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Bill Dehkes will officiate. Friends and relatives may call from 1:00PM until the time of services on Saturday at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, St. Cloud.

Pete was born July 13, 1931 in Russell, Minnesota to Walter and Edna (Cadwell) Peterson. He honorably served his country during the Korean Conflict in the United States Army. Pete married Ardith Ferris on February 8, 1958 at Osakis Lutheran Church. Pete was a meat cutter for 37 years at Red Owl and later Super Valu in Minneapolis until his retirement in July of 1993. He was a member of the Foley American Legion and Osakis VFW. Pete was an active outdoorsman; hunting, fishing, and Maple syruping. Pete enjoyed wood working and tinkering. Most importantly his family meant the world to him; often enjoying the great outdoors together. He will be dearly missed.

Pete is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Ardith; sons, Scott (Donna) of Monticello, Greg (Julie) of Effie, Mike (Kym) of Medina; grandchildren, Jason (Sara), Amy, Lucy, Blake, Ellie, and Jack Peterson; great grandson, Aidan Peterson, brothers and sisters, Waldon (Sandra) Peterson of Deer River, Wanda (Jim) Braun of Perham, Norma (Allen) Braun of Frazee, and Rodney (Diane) Peterson of Stone Lake, Wisconsin; sister-in-law, Vera Peterson of Waite Park.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donwin Peterson and Jerome Peterson; granddaughter, Laura.

Memorials are preferred to the Osakis War Memorial or Face it Foundation.
