Lawrence Lezer, age 86, of Foley, died Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at the Foley Nursing Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, November 15, 2014 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Popple Creek. The Rev. Dr. Timothy Rehwaldt will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at the Foley Funeral Home and 1 hour prior to services on Saturday at the church. A prayer service will be held at 6:00 PM Friday. Service with Dignity provided by Foley Funeral Home.

Lawrence Gustave Lezer was born October 11, 1928 in Gilmanton Township, Benton County to Gustave and Esther (Stofflet) Lezer. He married Elvina Jacobs on April 17, 1954 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Foley. Lawrence lived all his life in Benton County, farming and hauling livestock. He enjoyed fishing, going to auctions and animals, especially his dogs. Lawrence loved listening to Sunday polka music and visiting with anyone. His friendships and old time stories will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Elvina of Foley; children: Larry (Mary) of Jordan, Jay (Kerry) of Mound and Laurie (Greg) Ransom of Foreston; 3 grandchildren: Marina, Ryan and Dasha; sisters and brothers: Marlys Stewart of Oak Park, Geraldine Mendel of Popple Creek, Murel of Gilman, Vionne Gibbish of Rosemount and Daryl of Gilman. He was preceded in death by his parents.
