Lawrence Casper Then, 94, St. Stephen
May 11, 1921 - July 11, 2015
A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Lawrence Then, age 94, will be at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 18, 2015. Father Robert Harren will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Lawrence passed away peacefully Saturday, July 11, 2015 after living a long, full life to be with the Lord. There will be a visitation after 10:00 AM Saturday at the church in St. Stephen. Arrangements are being made with Miller-Carlin Funeral Home, St. Cloud.
Lawrence was born on May 11, 1921 in St. Stephen to Andrew and Katherine (Fuchs) Then. Lawrence was a farmer and active in the community especially in St. Stephen’s Church, Knights of Columbus, and in his later years, Pioneer Days. Lawrence took great pleasure in participating in steam shows, restoring old tractors and antique machinery.
He is survived by his wife Mae Then; nine children: John (Jan) Then, Barb (Stephen) Wiese, Gery Then, Joli (Jeff) Pfannes, Shelly (Lloyd) Kahlstorf, Mary (Dan) Sullivan, Larry (Karen) Then, Bruce (Sharon) Then, Tim (Rhonda) Then; step daughter Debbie Davis; brother Al (Rose) Then; sister Veronica Popp; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Katherine Then, his first wife Mary Jane (Super) Then in 2003, brothers and sisters, Alois Then, Ted Then, Othilda Johnson and Josephine Then.
