FOLEY -- Law enforcement all over the state cracking down on DWIs this holiday season.

The extra DWI enforcement campaign started last week and continues through January 2nd.

Benton County Sheriff Troy Heck says Thanksgiving and Christmas are the two biggest holidays for drunk-driving related deaths.

Heck encourages motorists to plan for a safe ride with a designated driver or public transportation and report any suspected impaired driving behavior you see on the road.

A DWI can result in losing your license for up to a year, thousands of dollars in costs, and possible jail time.
