Laurel ‘Lolly’ Talberg, 91, Hillman

Laurel 'Lolly' Talberg, age 91, of Hillman, died Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Mille Lacs Health System, Onamia.

Funeral services will be 11:30 AM Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Bethany Lutheran Church, Ramey. The Rev. Greg Tomhave will officiate. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery, rural Hillman.

Friends may call from 9 to 11:30 AM Tuesday at the church in Ramey. Service with Dignity provided by the Foley Funeral Home.

Laurel 'Lolly' Talberg was born ten minutes after her twin sister, Lois on Christmas Day, 1923 in Faulkton, South Dakota to Cornelius 'Neil' and Amy (Lancaster) Wall. She grew up and farmed in South Dakota and moved to Odessa, Minnesota with her family as a child. She married Jesse Talberg on June 2, 1956 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Ramey. She farmed with her husband and taught at country schools in the Hillman and Harding area for many years. Lolly was active in the Bethany Lutheran Church. She was very proud of her large family, enjoyed making quilts and was a wonderful cook. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her sons and daughters; Sandy (LeRoy) Schraut, Crystal; Becky Nutting, Milwaukee, WI; Richard (Roseanne) Talberg, Pierz; Lorna (Tom) Hanson, Mountain Home, ID; Amy (Mark) Fordyce, Hillman; Ann (Don) Hoheisel, Hillman; Peter (Lori) Talberg, Red Lake; Larry (Cathy) Talberg, Hillman; 30 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren, sisters; Jenny Olson, Hillman and Shirley Kloss, Hopkins. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Jesse; son, Charles French, sisters; Frannie Hullsick, Winnifred Hayes, twin-sister, Lois Hayes and brothers; Jim Wall, Donald Wall and Russel Wall.
